Benchmark Community Bank is pleased to announce the promotion of David Figueroa to Branch Manager for the Bank’s Henderson location.
"David joined Benchmark in 2023 as an Assistant Vice President/Relationship Banker," said President/CEO Neil Burke. "In that time, he was quickly promoted to Assistant Branch Manager and has made a smooth transition to leading the staff. David brings knowledge and positive energy to his new role as Branch Manager and has earned the trust of his customers and the Henderson staff. We are very fortunate to have David take on this leadership position in Henderson."
Born and raised in California, David began his banking career in 2003 at Bank of America. However, he quickly transitioned to a small community bank with only four offices, where he saw a clear opportunity to make a meaningful difference. Throughout his career across multiple institutions and roles, his time at that community bank left an indelible mark, one he carried with him and hoped to return to someday. In late 2021, he and his family relocated to North Carolina, embracing a new pace of life. As a newcomer to the state, David sought to reconnect with his roots in community banking and discovered an opportunity at Benchmark.
"With the leap we made moving here, I approached my career with the same mindset: to place my skills where they were nurtured long ago within community-minded banking," David recalls.
Since joining Benchmark, David has witnessed firsthand the meaningful impact a local bank can have in fostering genuine community partnerships. He began his journey at Benchmark in 2023 as a Relationship Banker, focusing on supporting the region’s growing lending needs while collaborating closely with his manager, Theresa Emo, on operational aspects of the branch. His dedication and hard work led to his promotion to Assistant Branch Manager in the summer of 2024, where he continued to work alongside Emo to provide exceptional support to Henderson's customers and community partners.

Outside of his professional commitments, David and his wife are proud parents of three daughters and active members of their local church, where he serves as a trustee. He is also excited to deepen his commitment to the community by serving as a board member for the Henderson-Vance County Chamber of Commerce starting in 2026.
